    Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) is the leading supercomputing center in Spain. It houses MareNostrum, one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe. It is a hosting member of the PRACE European distributed supercomputing infrastructure and also manages the Spanish Supercomputing Network. The mission of the BSC is to research, develop and manage information technologies in order to generate knowledge and technology to share with society, as well as the business and public sectors. The center comprises four different departments under one roof: Earth Sciences, Computer Sciences, Life Sciences, and Computational Applications in Science and Engineering.

    Colorado State University is a public research university located in Fort Collins, Colorado. It is the state's land grant university and the flagship university of the Colorado State university system. Bachelor's degrees are offered in 70 fields and the university confers doctoral degrees in 40 fields of study. The Department of Atmospheric Science at CSU, led by the late Dr William Gray, pioneered seasonal hurricane prediction for the Atlantic basin. CSU began issuing predictions in 1984 and has issued annual predictions continuously since that time.
