Research team
Barcelona Supercomputing Center is the national supercomputing center in Spain. BSC specialises in High Performance Computing (HPC) and its mission is two-fold: to provide infrastructure and supercomputing services to European scientists, and to generate knowledge and technology to transfer to business and society. The center is comprised of four different departments, which are Computer Sciences, Life Sciences, Earth Sciences and Computational Applications in Science and Engineering. BSC is a Severo Ochoa Center of Excellence and a first level hosting member of the European research infrastructure PRACE (Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe). It also manages the Spanish Supercomputing Network (RES).
Colorado State University is the public research university located in Forth Collins, Colorado. It is the state's land grant university and the flagship university of the Colorado State university system. Bachelor's degrees are offered in 65 fields and the university confers doctoral degrees in 40 fields of study. The Department of Atmospheric Science at CSU, led by the late Dr. William Gray, pioneered seasonal hurricane prediction for the Atlantic basin. CSU began issuing predictions in 1984 and has issued annual predictions continuously since that time.

Dr Louis-Philippe Caron
Climate scientist in the Earth Science Department at BSC. He obtained his Ph.D. from the Université du Québec à Montréal (Canada) and previously worked as a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Stockholm (Sweden) and the Catalan Institute of Climate Sciences (Spain). His main topics of research are seasonal to multi-annual forecasting of hurricane activity, cyclone-climate interactions and the representation of tropical cyclones in global and regional climate model.
Dr Phil Klotzbach
Research Scientist in the Department of Atmospheric Science at Colorado State University. He received his Ph.D. in Atmospheric Science from CSU in 2007 and has been employed in the Department of Atmospheric Science for the past fifteen years, where he has been co-author on the Atlantic basin hurricane forecasts with Dr. William Gray. He became first author on the seasonal hurricane forecasts in 2006, and developed the two-week forecasts currently being issued during the peak months of the hurricane season between August-October. He developed the Landfalling Hurricane Probability Webpage in partnership with the GeoGraphics Laboratory at Bridgewater State University.

Dr Isadora Christel Jiménez
Science communication specialist in the Earth System Services group at BSC. Her role in the group is to foster climate services in key sectors of society, such as insurance, renewable energies, agriculture, and urban development. She has a Master's degree in Science Communication (IDEC-UPF) and obtained a Ph.D. in offshore wind enery impact assessment from the University of Barcelona.
Dr Marta Terrado
Science dissemination specialist in the Earth System Services group at BSC. Her role in the group is to foster climate services in key sectors of society, such as insurance, renewable energies, agriculture, and urban development. She has a Master's degree in Geographical Information Systems from the Polytechnic University of Catalunya and obtained a Ph.D. in Earth Sciences from the University of Barcelona.

Dr Tom Philp
Science Analyst at AXA XL. He obtained his PhD from the Department of Meteorology at the University of Reading, and in the past has worked as a researcher at NOAA's Hurricane Research Division.
